Botswana is roughly the size of France, covering some 582,000 sq km.

Political System

Multi party democracy. Stable government.


Botswana has one of the strongest economies in Africa. Major industries include diamonds, beef and tourism.


The Pula (meaning rain). Travellers cheques and foreign currency can be exchanged at banks. All the camps we use accept VISA and Master card.


Botswana has a generally fine climate with little humidity. Days can be hot and nights cold. Temperatures in the Okavango are more moderate.


English is the official language and is very widely spoken. Setswana is spoken by virtually everybody.


It's a good idea to consult with your local immunization authority or personal physician before you travel to Botswana in order to find out what vaccinations/medications are required or suggested.


Botswana offers excellent cuisine. The food is of higest quality, prepared by excellent chefs throughout it's Lodges, Camps, Hotels and resturants. All supermarkets are well stocked for those driving themselves.


Botswana is considered one of the safest destinations in Africa. It is stable both financially and politically.


Citizens of certain countries need visas for entry into Botswana. This list does change from time to time, so do check with us regarding requirements at the time of your intended visit.


On arrival in Botswana you will be met by a representative of African Courtesy Tours who will assist you by ensuring that you are transferred to your flight destined for your camp.


During the day and evening in Summer, lightweight cotton and cotton blend clothing is suitable. In winter it can be very cold in the evenings and early mornings and a warm jacket is a good idea.
